Belle Vue Terrace
Belle Vue Terrace, Chalford, is an unusual red brick Victorian terraced house in Chalford. The house is within the Chalford Vale Conservation Area, in part known for its traditional Cotswold vernacular cottages and mill buildings formally associated to the canal and textile industry. Belle Vue Terrace is believed to have once been a bakery, now a family home, with stunning views across the Golden Valley.
A first floor extension added a new main bedroom with ensuite and dressing room. An east facing gable window brings morning sunlight into the bedroom, while sliding folding glass doors partnered with a Juliet balcony provides elevated south facing views across the Valley. The design maintains an existing right of access to the rear of the Terrace, raised on an oak frame providing cover to a courtyard below. An impressive vaulted ceiling provides a focal point within the property, adding a modern yet sympathetic addition to the traditional Victorian terrace house.
